We put a great deal of thought into the way we designed and equipped Active Life Fitness. Having been health club personal trainers for many years, we knew what people didn't like about large fitness centers; loud offensive music, overcrowded conditions, young dudes and dudettes in muscle tees and spandex, long waits for equipment, and other annoyances that could make you look forward to a gym visit as much as a trip to the dentist. Rows and rows of intimidating, ineffective, and sometimes dangerous exercise equipment fill the cavernous space and the large club business model is based on membership sales only, not on getting members results.
Our 3000 square foot gym is warm, inviting and intimate. We train people to move better, which cannot be done with seated weight training exercises. Therefore, the tools that we use in our workout routines allow people to focus on moving their bodies and heavy objects through space, building a stronger core and resulting in better function in their daily lives.
Dumbbells, rubber bands, medicine balls, kettlebells, free weights, stability balls, and one's own body weight are just some of the tools we use to help our clients achieve their fitness goals, whether it be weight loss, increased strength, better movement, or improved health. Developing the skills to utilize these items in your personal training sessions will yield faster and better results than the aforementioned health club dinosaurs.
